The JRM Transportation Museum is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization and was founded in July 2014. Our primary focus is to encourage rail safety within the community, education of rail transportation, and preservation of railroad artifacts. By keeping this important history alive we hope to foster interest in the next generation of railroad workers.
We are located at the Springdale depot. The museum is open Monday-Friday at 8AM to 4PM, in addition to when the passenger train is boarding and de-boarding. Most of our displays include model trains, railroad memorabilia, and rail-related artwork.
As part of our mission to preserve railroad history, we are currently restoring former FRISCO caboose #1288. This caboose was donated to us in 2023 and is in need of a full restoration. If you would like to donate to this cause, please visit our donation page or call the office at (479) 725-4017.
Read our July 2024 Newsletter to learn more about what we've been up to lately. Support the safety, education and preservation goals of the Friends of the A&M Railroad. – Thank you!
JRM Memberships
In addition to donating, you can also help us achieve our goals by becoming a member.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the J. Reilly McCarren Transportation Museum, please fill out the form linked below. All members will receive a newsletter that is sent out periodically to keep them informed of the museum’s projects and upcoming events.
Commemorative Bricks
To support the museum and its mission, we are selling commemorative bricks. These pavers are a great way to pay a lasting tribute to a loved one and will be laid at the Springdale Depot and in front of the museum.
