Do you recommend purchasing tickets in advance?
Purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended, especially for our fall rides.
Is there assigned seating on the train?
Yes; seats are assigned, except for some coach seating during the December Holiday Express rides.
When do I need to arrive at the depot?
Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. This ensures you will have time to get parked, check in for your train ride at the gift shop, and use the restroom before boarding. You are welcome to browse our gift shop and museum while waiting to board. Boarding typically begins 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. Please note that delays may occur.
Is there parking available on site?
Free parking is available in a parking lot adjacent to the depot in Springdale. Free parking is available in Van Buren near the depot in parking lots at Freedom Park. A large free parking lot is available a few blocks from the station in Van Buren on Webster Street between 7th and 8th Streets. There is also free street parking in downtown Van Buren, which is available unless otherwise signed.
Are strollers permitted?
Strollers are allowed. They will be stored until we arrive at the destination or return back to the depot.
Is the train handicap accessible?
Due to the historic nature of the passenger equipment, the excursion train has limited handicap accessibility. Normal boarding is via stairs. A ramp is available for use at the Springdale depot, and a wheelchair lift (500lb capacity) is available at the Van Buren depot. Please book Premium Car #107 “The Explorer” if in a wheelchair or small electric scooter, and indicate when booking that ADA assistance is requested. All other cars may not be suitable for passengers in wheelchairs. Restrooms on the train are not wheelchair accessible. Wheelchair accessible restrooms are available for use at the depots.
Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed. Only service animals are permitted. Please indicate when booking if you plan to bring a service animal.
Will we be getting off the train?
The Springdale to Van Buren trip has a 3 hour layover in Van Buren. The Springdale to Winslow and Van Buren to Winslow excursions are scenic trips with no layover.
Will my tickets be mailed to me?
No. Tickets will be emailed to you upon booking. When you arrive to the depot for your train ride, you will show the QR code on your tickets to the ticket agent in the gift shop.
Are the train rides round trip?
Yes. Unless otherwise noted, all train rides are round trip.

Is the train air-conditioned or heated?
Yes, our cars are climate-controlled and we do our best to keep them at a comfortable temperature. Please note that the dome section of car 108 “The Silver Feather” is glass covered and may get warm on sunny days.
Are restrooms located on the train?
Yes, restrooms are located on the train. There is a restroom in each car except Car 109 “Spirit of Arkansas”. Passengers in Car 109 will be escorted to a restroom in an adjacent car. However, restrooms on the train are quite small and are not wheelchair accessible. Wheelchair accessible restrooms are available at the depots.
How many people are required to receive the “Group Rate” on a train?
Twelve or more people in a party qualify for the group rate. Please call 479-725-4017 for more information about group rates, or to make a reservation.
What is your refund policy?
Tickets are refundable if cancelled at least 48 hours before the scheduled ride. If you miss the train, please call 479-725-4017 to reschedule for a different day based on availability.
Can I reschedule or exchange the tickets?
Yes, tickets may be rescheduled. Please call the depot at 479-725-4017 for assistance in rescheduling your train ride.
