Family-friendly weekend event features detailed layouts, vendors, and hands-on fun
Springdale, Arkansas – The J. Reilly McCarren Transportation Museum, located in Springdale, Arkansas, will host the 23rd Annual Northwest Arkansas Model Train Show on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Springdale Convention Center, 1500 S. 48th Street, Springdale, Arkansas 72762.
Kids and adults alike can enjoy model train layouts, including LEGO®, train vendors, and a photo display by the Photo Society of Northwest Arkansas. “The annual event has become a long-standing Northwest Arkansas tradition, drawing visitors from across the region and bringing the community together for more than 20 years,” said Brenda Rouse a representative of the museum. It’s a chance to share the history, craftsmanship and creativity behind railroading while offering a fun, family-friendly experience.”
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 per child, children 5 and under admitted free.
Proceeds will support local charities and enables a student to attend the National Railroad Historical Society’s RailCamp program where they will learn both modern and historic elements of America’s most vital transportation mode.
The J. Reilly McCarren Transportation Museum is dedicated to safety awareness, education, and railroad preservation. The Transportation Museum is located at 305 ½ E. Emma Avenue, adjacent to the railroad depot in downtown Springdale.
